Latics play Burnley
Italian trialists Matteo Piciollo and Erik Laghigna were given a chance to impress for Latics who this afternoon are playing in a behind-closed doors friendly against Burnley.Both players were unnamed trialists as they made substitute appearances in last night's first-team friendly at Curzon Ashton.
The 20-year-old Piciollo's most recent club was US Salternitana while Laghigna was at Serie D team Citta di Marino.
Manager Lee Johnson was taking another look at the Italians as well as the other squad players who were either on the bench or did not feature last night.
Johnson named himself on the bench along with fitness coach Lee Steele due to a shortage of players as the youth team is on four-day training camp at Lilleshall.
