Players tough it out in Army

Manager Lee Johnson is delighted how members of his Latics' squad are adapting to life as squadies.

The first-team squad are into the second day of their visit to the Army's Altcar Training Camp.

Johnson said: "The lads have been superb.

"It has been really tough, mentally and physically, but to a man they have come through and some leaders have come out of the pack."

Johnson revealed that yesterday, they have six sessions and didn't finish until midnight.

The day ended with a one hour orienteering run when the players were put in teams of three with Connor Brown, James Wesolowski and Mark Oxley emerging the victors.

After their late finish, there was no lie in as the players were up at the crack of drawn at 5.30am from their dormitory beds for circuit training.
