Latics sign Oxley

Hull keeper completes season-long loan

Latics have signed goalkeeper Mark Oxley from Premier League side Hull City on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old, who has spent almost five years with the Tigers, is viewed so highly that he recently signed a new two-year contract.

Standing at 6ft 3in, Oxley's physical presence impressed Latics' manager Lee Johnson whenever he has watched him play.

Sheffield born Oxley, a former England under-18 and 20 international, kicked off his career as a trainee at Rotherham United.

He was signed by Hull in August 2008, but has made only one senior appearance for the Tigers.

Oxley has, however, had loan spells at Walsall, Grimsby and Burton in the last four seasons.

Keep logging on to the official website to hear what Johnson has to say about his latest capture.
