Hotshot MacDonald agrees deal

Latics have captured vastly-experienced striker Charlie MacDonald.

The 32-year-old has signed a 12-month contract with Latics having an option for a second year.

MacDonald is a player of great experience of League One having played for Brentford, MK Dons and Leyton Orient in the division.

And with a career record of 125 goals in 393 matches, MacDonald is a proven marksman.

MacDonald, released by Orient in the summer, kicked off his career at Millwall and turned professional for Charlton Athletic playing and scoring in Premier League.

After leaving the Addicks, MacDonald plied his trade with non-league clubs Margate, Stevenage, Crawley and Gravesend and Northfleet.

Southend offered MacDonald a route back into League football in 2007.

Keep logging on to the official website for an interview with MacDonald and also hear what manager Lee Johnson has to say about his latest capture.
