Tony lands honour
Tony Philliskirk landed a special honour at the onefuture Oldham Sports Awards.Latics' Academy Manager (pictured) was the inaugural winner of the 'Special Recognition Award.'
It came at the end of the event at the Queen Elizabeth Hall where nine other awards were presented.
Philliskirk was honoured for his 15-years' service at Latics where he has built a hugely successful youth policy as well as having several spells as caretaker first-team manager, including last season.
While the other categories had shortlists, Philliskirk had no inkling that he, too, would be a recipient.
He explained: "It came at the end of the night and was a complete surprise.
"I was very proud to receive the reward for doing my job at Latics.
"After 15 years with Latics and working in Oldham, the club is in my heart and I will do anything I can to help them.
"It was lovely to be recognised for the work I do."
