Truelove's double date

26 July 2013

Jack to feature in two games tomorrow

Second-year scholar Jack Truelove is to feature in two games for Latics tomorrow.

The 17-year-old (pictured) is back on youth-team duty in the morning when he will play in part of the friendly against Huddersfield Town at Chapel Road, kick off 11am.

Truelove will then dash to Boundary Park where he will be in the first-team squad for the friendly which is also against Huddersfield.

The return of Truelove to the under-18's - he has been with the first team for much of pre-season - will strengthen Latics who will again have a depleted line up.

Haydn Foulds, Paul Tyson, Jordan Eches, Jordache Walters and Will Kinder are all absentees.

But there is some good news on the injury front as centre-back Ryan Ellison will play part of the game. He has been out for a fortnight with a thigh strain.

Academy Manager Tony Philliskirk says it will be a good test for his side which has won all three of its pre-season matches so far.

"Huddersfield will be the toughest game we have played so far and the next step up so it will be interesting to see how we do," he said.
