Improved deals for Brown, Belezika

Connor Brown and Glenn Belezika, two of Latics' bright young players, have been rewarded with improved contracts.

Latics recently took up the option to extend the contracts of both players.

This has been followed by improved financial terms.

Manager Lee Johnson said: "The improved contract terms reflect how highly we value both players.

"They weren't earning a fortune and this is part of making them responsible adults and helping them develop both as men and footballers."

Johnson added in the case of Belezika the club has an option to extend his contract further at the end of the 2013/14 season.

Central-defender Belezika (18), who has made four first-team appearances, was brought to Latics for a trial as a 16-year-old by former player Djeny Bembo-Leta who alerted them about his ability.

The 20-year-old Brown (pictured), meanwhile, was signed from Sheffield United last summer and made 29 appearances in his debut campaign for Latics.
