Groundsman carries out emergency repairs
Latics' Head Groundsman Chris Bailey is pictured carrying out emergency repairs to the newly-seeded pitch at Boundary Park.It is believed the surface has been damaged by foxes relieving themselves which has left burned patches on the surface.
Bailey reports three areas which have been scorched with foxes blamed.
The Head Groundsman is seen inserting plastic strands into the Desso pitch which will strengthen the areas which are hurriedly having to be re-seeded.
Other than the damaged areas, Bailey is pleased with the grass cover, especially as it has been another difficult close season with cold weather initially meaning the seed took longer than usual to germinate.
