Latics left disappointed
Latics' pre-season preparations have been disrupted after FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic have pulled out of a friendly at Boundary Park on Saturday, July 20th.Wigan, who have apologised to Latics for the inconvenience caused, have withdrawn after organising a last-minute 10-day training camp to the United States where they will play friendlies against MLS side Columbus Crewe and third division side Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
That has resulted in Wigan having to cancel friendlies against Morecambe and Latics and also a scheduled trip to Germany where they were due to play Hanover 96.
Latics' Chief Executive Neil Joy said: "The friendly has been cancelled through circumstances outside the control of Oldham Athletic.
"We are extremely disappointed our pre-season schedule has been disrupted in this way.
"We will now move as quickly as possible to arrange another match on this date."
