Match reports against Wrexham

Latics were unbeaten in their Centre of Excellence matches against Wrexham winning two and drawing three of their matches.

The under-11's produced a terrific fightback to beat the Welsh side 3-1 having been 1-0 down after two of the four quarters.

Latics, who were lucky not to be further behind, showed great determination to overturn the deficit.

Alex Panter and Matthew Knott made it 2-1 at the end of the third period with a free kick from Will Roberts making 3-1 in the last quarter.

The under-14's were also victorious registering a 3-2 victory.

Latics were 1-0 down but hit back through goals from James Beck and Bradley Kay to move 2-1 ahead.

Wrexham made it 2-2 against the run of play only for a trialist to score a last-minute winner for Latics.

Tyrese Sinclair scored a last-minute penalty to earn Latics under-12's a 4-4 draw against Wrexham.

Sinclair and Harry Quick both found the net twice and impressed as did Pawel Zuk.

Latics showed character having been 2-0 down.

The under-13's were  held to a 1-1 draw after conceding a goal with virtually the last kick of the game.

The ball struck the Wrexham centre forward and rolled into the net.

Latics, who produced a very good performance, had taken the lead through a trialist.

There was also deadlock in the game involving a combined under-15/16 side which drew 2-2.

Latics led through a trialist, fell 2-1 behind and then equalised through a fine solo effort from Emil Tasinda.

It was a good performance from Latics who had nine trialists in their side which affected their continuity.
