Latics lose former player
Latics have been saddened to hear of the death of former player Dennis Stevens at the age of 79 following a long illness.Dennis made 38 appearances for Latics between 1965/67 towards the end of an illustrious career.
The half back, capped by England at under-23 level, was a member of Bolton Wanderers' FA Cup winning team of 1958 as well as picking up a First Division championship in 1962/63 with Everton.
A cousin of Manchester United legend Duncan Edwards, Dennis scored 113 goals in 457 career appearances with Bolton, Everton, Latics and Tranmere Rovers.
