Come and watch basement battle

It is being widely described as Latics' biggest game of the season as they prepare to host Hartlepool United tonight in npower League One.

Given Latics' cup exploits against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Everton, it is a measure of the importance of the match which involves two teams currently occupying relegation places.

It is the proverbial six-pointer as a win for Latics, who have four more points than Hartlepool, will lift them out of the bottom four.

What a debut for new Latics' manager Lee Johnson who was yesterday confirmed to the Boundary Park hotseat.

Latics will be looking for the first of the five victories from their remaining 10 games which would see them pass 50 points which is traditionally the benchmark for safety.

Hartlepool were unbeaten in February, a feat which earned John Hughes the League One manager-of-the-month award.

Since then there has been a dip in form in March which has seen them draw two and lose two of their four matches.

Adults can watch tonight's game from £19.

Ticket prices are £20 for adults in the Main Stand Upper with over-65's, under-16's and students all £10.

In Main Stand Lower the prices are £19 and £9 respectively.

Prices for the Chaddy End and Rochdale Road Stand are £20 for adults, £10 concessions with under-16's in both stands £5.

Hartlepool fans will be accommodated in the small section of the Rochdale Road Stand.

Students are reminded they must hold Oldham Athletic student membership which is available from the ticket office.
