Furman, Tarkowski at South Failsworth Primary

Latics' players Dean Furman and James Tarkowski spent the afternoon with Oldham Athletic Community Trust staff
as they visited South Failsworth Primary.

Trust staff have been working with the school for a number of weeks delivering both football and Futsal sessions to the children.  They have been based around inclusive small-sided games as well as teaching the children the basics of football in a fun and safe environment with the emphasis of the lessons very much being on them having an enjoyable experience.

Furman and Tarkowski answered questions about the hard work and dedication it takes to be a professional footballer.  The children also got to see the players in action as both showed off their football skills before seeing what the children had learned.

Furman said: "It's great to visit local schools and support the good work the Community Trust does.  "The children demonstrated some fantastic skills and it was a pleasure to answer the questions they had."

Dennis Leman, PFA Community Liason Executive, added:” "Dean and James were terrific and were involved in the skill activity with demonstrations which motivated the children and made an immediate impact."

Oldham Athletic Community Trust don't just offer football, but a wide range of activities including Futsal, handball and StreetCheer. For more information on how your local school can work with the Trust, email .martin.vose@oldhamathletic.co.uk
