Two-match ban likely to exclude first-team games
Carl Winchester's sending off for Latics reserves in today's Central League, First Division match against Hull City is unlikely to rule him out of first-team matches.The teenager (pictured), dismissed for directing foul and abusive language towards the referee, is likely to serve a two-match ban from non first team competitive matches starting 14 days after the date of the game.
The only way the punishment can be increased is if the referee, in his report, deems it exceptional and the suspension does not fit the offence. In those circumstances, the ban can be extended.
