New goal-of-the-month competition
For the new season, Latics have teamed up with Oldham College to launch a Goal-of-the-Month competition.
At the end of the season each month’s winning goal will be put into a compilation where supporters can vote for the Oldham College Goal of the Season.
Supporters will be able to vote for their favourite goal every month via the official Oldham Athletic website, the Oldham College website and the club’s social media channels.
Each month the media production students from Oldham College will edit a video package containing every goal scored by the team. The winner each month will be presented with the Oldham College Goal-of-the-Month award on the pitch prior to a home game.
“I think it is a fantastic initiative and I’m delighted to be working with Oldham College.”
“Also, it is a new award for the club and hopefully will encourage supporter engagement with lots of votes cast each month to bring the club and the supporters closer together.
“It is a brilliant opportunity for students to work on a live project which will be of great value to the club.
Speaking about the new initiative Latics’ Sales and Marketing Executive, David Broadbent, said: “The goal-of-the-month competition represents part of the club and college’s new partnership.
Oldham College Principal and Chief Executive, Alun Francis, added: “

“The College students gain experience of working on an important initiative at the same time as bringing benefits to the Football Club, its fans and the wider community.”
“It is an excellent example of the practical projects which Oldham Athletic and Oldham College have identified as part of their partnership.
We are very pleased to be working with Oldham Athletic on this project.
