Rodger Wylde was a striker who achieved cult status during his three-and-a-half years with Latics in the early 1980's.

The flamboyant Wylde was top scorer in each of his three full seasons with Latics and found the net 52 times in 125 first-team appearances.

Wylde, who moved to Portuguese giants Benfica after leaving Latics, has been the long-serving physio at Stockport County who have awarded him a testimonial against his former club Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, July 9th.

Stockport would like to hear stories about Wylde's time with Latics to use in his testimonial programme.

Send your stories to Latics' website editor Tony Bugby (tony.bugby@oldhamathletic.co.uk) who will collate them for the article.
