Brown back in squad

8 November 2013

Bove wins first call up

Connor Brown is back in Latics' squad for tomorrow's FA Cup with Budweiser, first-round tie against Wolves while there is a surprise first call up for Jordan Bove.

Right-back Brown (pictured), who has been out for two-and-a-half months with a knee injury, only resumed full training this week.

Brown has impressed sufficiently, however, to win a place in the squad to play Wolves.

It is a surprise as manager Lee Johnson initially thought the earliest he would be back would be for Tuesday's JPT tie against Notts County.

Brown is added to the squad along with teenage striker Bove who has received his first call-up to the first-team squad.

It is reward for the second-year scholar who has scored 14 goals in 12 youth-team matches. He has been given the squad number 35.

Edijs Joksts and Chris Sutherland lose out.

Joksts hurt his groin in the reserve-team match against Morecambe in midweek.

Squad: Oxley, Brown, Grounds, Wesolowski, Kusunga, Tarkowski, Schmeltz, Smith, Rooney, Montano, Mellor, Clarke-Harris, Winchester, Rodgers, Dayton, Millar, Philliskirk, Bove, Rachubka.
