Latics injury latest

24 November 2013

Updates on Montano, Mellor, Philliskirk

Cristian Montano missed Latics' Sky Bet League 1 match at Gillingham yesterday through injury.

The winger (pictured) sustained a knee injury on the FA Cup win at Wolves.

Manager Lee Johnson says there is a chance Montano could be back for Tuesday's league game at Shrewsbury Town.

David Mellor also missed the win at Gillingham, but he was not injured and simply rested.

Mellor had been sick and, as a result of that, came off through cramp at Wolves which is why he was left at home to recuperate as he will be needed on Tuesday following the return of Joseph Mills to Burnley following the completion of a three-month loan.

Danny Philliskirk needed one stitch inserting into a cut to the back of his head, a wound which sustained at Gillingham.

Genseric Kusunga will be an absentee on Tuesday as he begins a three-match ban following his dismissal yesterday at Priestfield.
