Scholar Hardman wins call upScholar Kyle Hardman has won a first senior call up to Latics' squad for tomorrow's Sky Bet League 1 match at Shrewsbury Town.
The 17-year-old (pictured) is the latest home-grown player to graduate to the first-team squad.
Midfield man Hardman, the nephew of former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers defender David May, has been at Boundary Park since he was an under-14's player.
Hardman, who had a trial at Manchester United before joining Latics, played for junior football for Bury-based Walshaw.
Manager Lee Johnson said: "Kyle was injured during the early part of the season.
"Since returning, he was been playing well for the youth and reserve teams and he deserves his chance."
Latics will be without defenders Genseric Kusunga, who begins a three-match ban, and Joseph Mills who has returned to Burnley.
David Mellor, rested on Saturday, and Hardman are added to the squad.
Squad: Oxley, Grounds, Wesolowski, Tarkowski, Schmeltz, Smith, Rooney, MacDonald, Montano, Mellor, Clarke-Harris, Winchester, Rodgers, Lanzoni, Dayton, Petrasso, Belezika, Philliskirk, Rachubka, Hardman.
