Youngsters play Valiants

Latics under-15's emerged worthy 3-0 winners against a decent Port Vale side.

It was a solid display from Latics who took the lead through a first-half goal from James Beck.

They added to their tally in the second period through further efforts from Brad McLaughlin and a Nyal Platt penalty.

THE under-14's were lucky to draw 1-1 against Vale according to coach Peter Wild who described it as a poor performance.

The goalscorer for Latics was Lee McNamara.

THERE was a 4-2 defeat for the under-12's against Vale.

Latics were punished for making a bad start as they fell 3-0 behind after two quarters of the match.

They dominated the last two periods in which they scored goals through Matthew Knott and Alex Panter.

THE under-10's played two five-versus-five games against Port Vale and won the majority of the periods.
