Who is hot in the League 1 promotion race?

Leyton Orient’s 100-per-cent record came to end as 10-man Walsall held the O’s to a 1-1 draw at the Matchroom Stadium.

The league leaders, who started the season 33/1 outsiders, are now third in the outright market pecking order behind Wolverhampton Wanderers and Peterborough United respectively.

Both the aforementioned clubs secured weekend victories to close the gap on Orient. Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough side pinched a 1-0 victory away at promotion hopefuls Rotherham thanks to a Grant McCann goal.

Meanwhile, Sky Bet’s 11/8 League 1 favourites Wolverhampton Wanderers, secured a 2-0 away victory at Sheffield United with pre-season top goalscorer favourite Leigh Griffiths netting his fifth goal this campaign.

That victory left David Weir’s South Yorkshire side at the foot of the table and now 20/1 to turn their fortunes around and secure promotion.

The fight for a promotion in Sky Bet League 1 looks set to be a hotly contested one with just four points separating fourth and 10th position.

In that mix, Preston North End are one of the many in-form sides, unbeaten in their opening nine league matches, the latter five being consecutive victories. Simon Grayson’s men are now 3/1 for promotion and 11/1 for the title.
