Latest on Lanzoni, Kusunga
Matteo Lanzoni is likely to be out for a couple more weeks with the hamstring injury sustained early in the game against Leyton Orient a week last Saturday.Manager Lee Johnson admitted the Italian (pictured) is struggling and will probably be on the sidelines for a further fortnight.
There is brighter news about Genseric Kusunga as a scan has given him the all clear.
The Swiss defender has been troubled by a tight hamstring in recent weeks.
The players reported back today following a three-day break.
And Johnson was delighted as it gave the many players, who had been nursing knocks, time to recover.
"Having a few days off has worked well and enabled injuries to settle," he explained.
With no midweek match, Johnson is planning extra time on the training ground with double training sessions today and tomorrow.
"It is good to have a clear week and we will be going big on tactical things on the training ground," he said.
Johnson is happy with Latics' draw against Notts County in the Northern Area Quarter Finals of Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
"It is good to have a home draw after being away in the first two rounds, though I would have preferred a local derby against Rochdale," he explained.
