Lanzoni lands award

He took a 54-per-cent share of the poll finishing ahead of James Tarkowski and Mark Oxley who had also been shortlisted.

Lanzoni (pictured) could not have dreamed of a better start to his career at Boundary Park by capturing the award in his first full month at the club.

Italian defender Matteo Lanzoni has been named Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre player of the month for September.

Lanzoni, deputing for injured right-back Connor Brown, featured in all five first-team games in September and scored his first goal for the club at Rotherham United.

Manager Lee Johnson said: “Matteo has adapted well to the English game, I’m pleased with his performances so far.

"He scored a good goal at Rotherham and he’s a real soldier for us.”

Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre manager Mike Flanagan  will present the award to Lanzoni prior to kick off at the home game against Carlisle United on Saturday, October 19th.
