Fletcher is Latics hat-trick hero

THERE was also victory for the under-14's who beat Bury 6-1 despite being far from at their best.

Goals from player-of-the-match Harry Fairhurst, Bradley Kay, Ryan Leonard, James Beck and a trialist sealed the victory in what was a good team performance.

THE under-15’s also enjoyed a great day beating Bury 5-0.

There were two goals from Will Roberts while Jack Worrall and Alex Panter also found the net with an own goal completing their tally.

James Fletcher scored a hat trick for Latics under-12’s who recorded an emphatic 8-1 victory against Bury.

The goals for Latics came from Mwiya Mulumo (2), Keyon Chicango (2), Luca Navarro and Jack Meglan with Marcus Cay and Mulumo the stand-out performers.

Collins took the ball from half way and breezed past two opponents to score while Walsh found the net after Ben Hough’s shot came back off the crossbar.

Latics, who were 2-0 down in the second quarter, hit back through goals from Joe Collins and Lewis Walsh.

TWO late goals inflicted a 4-2 defeat on unlucky Latics under-11’s by Bury.

The only thing lacking was a cutting edge as Latics missed a penalty and also struck the upright so it could conceivably have ended 2-2.

THERE was a 2-0 defeat for the under-13's against Bury with the positives the attractive football they played.

Latics’ goal was scored by one of their trialists.

Latics, who had seven trialists in their side, had enough chances to have recorded a resounding victory, but lost to a late goal.

THE under-16’s were unfortunate to lose 2-1 to Bury after hitting the frame of their opponents’ goal four times and also missing a penalty.

THE under-10’s lost 6-5 to Bury in an exciting match in which Latics took plenty of positives from the game.
