Hat-trick for Matthew

Matthew Knott scored a hat trick for Latics' under-12's who defeated Wrexham 6-2.

Jake Barnes found the net with a 25-yard screamer while also on target were Jack Worrall and Robert Watson.

James Beck, Bradley Kay and Nyal Platt found the net as the under-15's edged home 3-2 against Wrexham.

However, they ought to have triumphed by a wider margin after dominating most of the match.

The under-10's were involved in a high-scoring match losing 9-5 to Wrexham.

The goals were spread between Patrick Taylor, Jacob Rimmer, Finn Spence, Billy Allsey and Kane Badby.

Keaton Williamson and Louie Bull scored for the under-11's who were beaten 4-2 by Wrexham in a game containing good and bad play.

The under-14's lost 2-0 to Wrexham following an evenly-matched contest in which Lewis Derbyshire was outstanding.

There was a cruel defeat for the under-16's who lost 1-0 to a last-minute penalty against Wrexham.

It was a tight game of few chances, though Latics' keeper Chris Renshaw made some good saves.
