Latics sign keeper

Rachubka agrees short-term deal

Latics have signed goalkeeper Paul Rachubka on a short-term contract until January 5th, 2014.

The 32-year-old (pictured) has been training with Latics for a number of weeks following his departure from Leeds United.

Rachubka, who will be No 29, is no stranger as he had a half-season loan spell with Latics from Manchester United in 2001/02 in which he played 17 matches.

He has played for a total of 14 clubs, though many have been on loan. His permanent employers have been Manchester United, Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town, Blackpool and Leeds United during a career in which he has played 302 competitive matches.

Manager Lee Johnson has welcomed the signing saying: "Paul has been with us for some time and his experience is something we need.

"Mark Oxley has done well, but we need to push him so it is good to have a keeper of Paul's experience."
