Tony part of Football Association study group

Tony Philliskirk is off to Greece tomorrow for a four-day footballing visit.

Latics' Academy Manager (pictured) has been invited by the Football Association to be part of their study group.

They will be looking at football, mainly youth, in Greece.

Philliskirk will be joined by Dan Ashworth, the FA's director of elite development; Ged Roddy, who wrote the EPPP coaching blueprint and England under-17 coach John Peacock.

"The League Managers' Association (LMA) were asked to nominate somebody and picked me which is a great honour," explained Philliskirk.

The much-respected Philliskirk has been in charge of youth development at Boundary Park for 15 years with the club's programme one of the most successful in the game.
