Sinclair is Latics' hotshot

3 September 2013

Four goals for Tyrese

Tyrese Sinclair scored four goals for Latics under-13's who defeated Walsall 5-2 in their Academy match.

Coach Gary Lewis described his boys as showing good potential adding they still need to show a little more quality passing and delivering the final ball as well as working on positioning and movement.

The remaining goal came from a Walsall player putting through his own goal.

THE under-14's beat Walsall 1-0 as new signings Lewis Derbyshire and Lee McNamara combined to great effect.

Derbyshire broke from his own half and cut the ball back from the by-line for McNamara to slot home.

MATTHEW Knox found the net for the under-12's who beat Walsall 3-1.

The two other strikes were own goals in a game in which Knox and Adam Barthram were the stand-out performers.

THE under-10's were also triumphant edging a closely-fought game 4-3.

Kadir Muhammad and Billy Allsey scored while the two remaining goals came from trialists.

Despite conceding three goals, they defended well and were positive when attacking.

KEATON Williamson scored a brilliant solo effort and Tyler James also found the net for the under-11's who lost 5-2 to Walsall having held a 2-1 lead before fading badly late on.

THE under-16's, who had eight trialists in their starting line up, lost 3-2 to Walsall having also been 2-1 ahead, this time with 10 minutes left.

A FAILURE to take their chances proved costly for the under-15's who were beaten 3-0 by Walsall.

Latics were not helped by having five players missing. They created many openings, but were caught on the counter attack.
