Wesolowski, Dayton back for Latics

James Wesolowski (pictured) and James Dayton were restored to Latics' starting line up for tonight's Sky Bet League 1 match at Preston North End.

They took over from Anton Rodgers and Albert Rusnak who both kicked off last Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Shrewsbury Town.

Lee Johnson opted for Wesolowski's experience over Rodgers while Rusnak is away with Slovakia under-21's.

Latics' manager kept Danny Philliskirk in the side after the striker scored twice on his debut against the Shrews.

Newly-signed keeper Paul Rachubka found himself on the bench.

Preston (3-4-1-2): Rudd; Huntingdon, Clarke, Wright, Wright, Laird, Keane, Byrom, Buchanan; Holmes; Davies, Beavon. Subs: Stuckmann, Wroe, Garner, Welsh, Mousinho, Hayhurst, Hume.

Latics (4-4-2): Oxley; Lanzoni, Tarkowski, Grounds, Mills; Schmeltz, Wesolowski, Smith, Dayton; Philliskirk, Rooney. Subs: Kusunga, MacDonald, Montano, Mellor, Rachubka, Clarke-Harris, Rodgers.
