Latics don't expect any late activity

Lee Johnson in not anticipating any late activity with the transfer window set to close in less than two hours.

"You can never say never, but it doesn't look as though anything will happen," he said.

Latics' manager completed the capture of Swiss defender Genseric Kusunga earlier in the day.

Johnson had spent the day juggling events at Boundary Park while in Scotland where he has spent the last two days continuing his studies for his latest coaching badge.

Latics' manager was happy to have completed his transfer activity well before tonight's 11 o'clock deadline.

In the last week he has brought in Danny Philliskirk, Matteo Lanzoni, Albert Rusnak and Kusunga to offset the loss of Jose Baxter who has joined Sheffield United.

Johnson admits he has an abundance of riches in his squad explaining there is now competition for places in all areas.

He said: "There is quality everywhere in the squad and the problem is going to be trying to keep everybody happy.

"I am happy with the squad and cannot wait to see how it gels. I would love to fast forward six months to see what results we have had in that period."
