IFO Visit Park

5 August 2014

The Independent Football Ombudsman visited Park today to hear about the club's development, commercially and within the community.

The IFO has been established by the football authorities (The Football Association, The Premier League, and The Football League) to receive and adjudicate on complaints which have not been resolved at an earlier stage.

Professor Derek Fraser, who is the chairman of the IFO, said: ""We are here at Oldham today, who have kindly let us have a meeting here, and we have a panel here to hear about what is going on and to hear about the clubs development. We are interested in hearing about the community trust and customer issues about how to relate to fans.

"We know a lot of exciting things are happening at Oldham such as the new stand and new sponsorship. We are looking to learn about the football club and we want to explain what the IFO does."

Director, Barry Owen, added: "We welcome the Ombudsman to Oldham Athletic today. It's a groundbreaking day as I'm delighted they have decided to join us at Oldham today. It gives the club the opportunity to express what we do with the fans in the community trust. Hopefully this willl be the start of the fans understanding us more about the role of the Omsbudsman."
