New Commercial Director Appointed

12 December 2014

Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Moisley as the club’s new Commercial Director.

With over 12 years experience on the commercial side of sport, primarily in the football industry, Moisley will officially commence his duties with the club on Monday, January 19, 2015 and joins from England Hockey, where he held the role of Sales and Marketing Manager.

Having spent six years with Sunderland AFC both in the Championship and Premier League in various roles, Moisley was appointed Corporate Sales Director for IMG at Wembley Stadium in 2009. From there, he joined Sport First as Head of Sponsorship representing clients from the worlds of football, golf and cricket.

Moisley will head up the Commercial team at SportsDirect.com Park and will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan, in conjunction with the Club’s Senior Management, to grow the Oldham Athletic fan base and maximise both match day and commercial revenues.

Commenting on the appointment Chairman, Simon Corney, said: "We were impressed with Mark's professionalism and his track record. He joins us with a remit to build on the excellent work of our Commercial staff over the last two years and to take the Club to the next level both in terms of building the fan base and ensuring that we maximise the potential of the new North Stand."

Richard Taylor, Director, also commented on Mark's appointment, adding: "The appointment of Mark shows the Club's ambition to get things right off the pitch. As well as having a strong commercial element to it, Mark's role will also have a clear marketing and strategic focus, with the long term health of the Club in mind. At the forefront of this will be a focus on the ways in which we engage with our current and potential supporter base. Mark has an impressive and relevant range of experience and should be a huge asset to the Club as we build on the good work that has already started."

Speaking about his appointment, Mark said: "I am delighted to be joining Oldham Athletic at an exciting period for the club both on and off the pitch and am very much looking forward to a busy period with the development of the new North Stand and marketing the club to a wider audience. It is vital that we work closely with fans and the business community to ensure we can make the most of the opportunities this will provide and I cannot wait to get started."

Although Mark does not officially commence his role until the New Year, he can be contacted by email at mark.moisley@oldhamathletic.co.uk.
