Eight of Tony Philliskirk's youth team players attended the Safeguard Group on Tuesday afternoon as part of the #CookEatTalk initiative.
The youth team, who are sponsored by Safeguard, enjoyed an afternoon of learning how to cook healthy food and sampling their finished products.The initiative is proving popular with many youngsters around the area as it teaches them a life skill which they can use outside of football.
Firstly the youngsters were taught the benefits of healthy eating by chef Afruj Chowdhury and his team from Stirring Flavours, before they made their own dish.
George Edmondson, Paul Tyson, Jordache Walters, Devante Jacobs, Jake Hargreaves, Alex Read, Danny Byrnes and Eddie Fulwood were all in attendance.
The players all agreed it was a fulfilled day and have expressed their interest in taking part in future events.
