Latics score with new Metrolink stop at Westwood

Latics players James Dayton, Korey Smith, Carl Winchester and Chaddy the Owl paid a visit to the new Westwood Metrolink stop yesterday with Transport for Greater Manchester’s Metrolink Director, Peter Cushing – to mark the official opening of the new stops into Oldham Town Centre this week.

The new Westwood stop, located on Featherstall Road will be the closest stop to Boundary Park making it quicker and easier for supporters to get to and from matches without the hassle of driving and parking.

Peter Cushing said: “We’re delighted to be able to help Oldham fans get closer to the action. Supporters can now take advantage of the fast and frequent service that Metrolink provides – letting them have more time enjoying watching football and less time travelling.”

Latics Sales and Marketing Executive, David Broadbent, added "Metrolink is fantastic for the town and it gives our supporters another way of getting to the game".

The Westwood stop is within easy walking distance of the stadium and means you can leave the car at home. Oldham is a town on the rise, as a football club we are looking to play a huge part in this, and the arrival of metrolink makes it easier for Oldham to showcase itself to the rest of Greater Manchester."

Metrolink offers unlimited weekend travel for just £5.80* for an adult weekend Travelcard and only £7.50* for a family, so taking the tram to the match as is the perfect way to travel.
