David Worrall interview

7 January 2014

This morning the official website caught up with new signing David Worrall at Boundary Park.

David (23) has joined us on loan from Rotherham United until the end of the season and he is keen to get started and help Latics push up the Sky Bet League One table.

Worrall is no stranger to Boundary Park, he hails from Droylsden and has family members and close friends who are Latics supporters. Indeed last season he starred for Bury in their 2-1 win here. David began his career at Bury, before moving to West Bromwich Albion as a 16 year old. Loan spells followed at Accrington, Shrewsbury and Bury, before he returned permanently to the Shakers in January 2010. Whilst at Bury he made 177 appearances, scoring 12 goals. Rotherham beat a number of other clubs to secure his signature over the summer however this season has so far been disrupted by injury.

Speaking about the move Latics new number 28 said “I’m really looking forward to getting into the team and helping the lads push up the table, I’m a local lad with plenty of friends and family who are Latics fans and I know what the club means to them. Being here has already put a smile back on my face.”

A full interview will be available this afternoon on Latics Player as David faced a grilling from Gordon.
