Johnson and Brown Press Conference

Gaffer and defender talk about Posh win and tomorrow's Wolves game

Lee Johnson and defender Connor Brown spoke this morning after the weekend's dramatic comeback win against Peterborough United. The gaffer also spoke about tomorrows big match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

On Peterborough United:

"It was a funny game to analyse because it was as brilliant as it was awful and vice versa. The goals we conceded were unbelievable, you can't legislate for some of the decision making. But fair play to the lads the spirit they showed to put in the display they did in the second half.

"Their forwards were strong and they bullied our defenders in the first half, everything was too square and too slow by our players. But obviously full credit to the boys for taking responsibility and putting it right".

On Gary Harkins and David Worrall:

"I thought the pair of them showed superb spirit. They kept going and kept getting on the ball which gave us a platform. Worrall was a constant threat and when he lost the ball his mindset was that he was going to get it back, whilst Harkins has real quality and had a hand in four of the goals".

On Connor Brown:

"I thought Connor was excellent, it has been a difficult time for him. He was in good form before he was injured, but he has put himself back in with a shout of a place in the starting line-up tomorrow night with his performance on Saturday"

On Wolves:

"They are one of the best sides in the division, they are very strong, don't give away too many goals, they have a threat with their strikers and good delivery from their wide men.

"It is one of the toughest games we will get, we will have to be at our absolute maximum. We are not fearful of Wolves, if we show the spirit that we showed in the second half on Saturday we can get a result"

On player movement:

"There's no doubt that there is interest in a couple of our players, obviously James Tarkowski is one that there is interest in, but I want to keep him so the offers, if and when they come, will have to be right. I am looking at bringing in a couple of players, but again they have to be the right type of player to fit in with the group we are building".

Connor Brown also spoke about the game against Peterborough United and tells Latics Player about his yellow card following the added time winner from fellow defender Genserix Kusunga.

On that win against Posh:

"I have never played in a game like that in my life, words escape me as to how to describe it. It was a great team performance from everyone, especially once Gary Harkins took control of the game. The atmosphere at half time was the lowest feeling but the atmosphere afterwards was just like when we beat Liverpool.

On Wolves:

"We will have to take our second half performance into the game and keep it up for 90 minutes. We just have to believe in ourselves more"
Both of the interviews will be on Latics Player in full later today
