Holiday Club Success

11 July 2014

The Oldham Athletic Community Trust have made national and regional news over the last couple of days due to their holiday club during the school strike on Thursday.

When the strike was announced, the Community Trust ran their popular holiday club for one day only, providing children with a fun-filled day of activities.

The event proved popular with children as over 30 attended the day, with a lot of children attending for the first time.

The Oldham Athletic youth team also made an appearance to interact with the children and show a strong community spirit.

Speaking about the event, Wendy Noble said: "We wanted to give parents who couldn't find child care a place to bring their children so they could have an entertaining day.

"It turned out to be a massive success and we had a lot of new faces who enjoyed it so much, they have booked to come back.

"We are now fully booked up for the six-week holiday summer camps on the back of this event so it shows the strong community spirit here in Oldham."
