PREVIEW: Morecambe FC

22 July 2014

Lee Johnson takes his side to the Globe Arena tonight to face Morecambe FC in the club's fifth pre-season fixture of the summer.

Latics are currently unbeaten in their last three pre-season outings after victories over Curzon Ashton, Newcastle United and drawing with Melbourne City.

Spanish Trialist Miguel Llera equalised in the final five minutes of the game against the A-League side to rescue a draw for Latics.

The game will give Johnson further opportunity to assess his squad ahead of the new 2014/15 season which starts against Colchester next month.

Morecambe have had one pre-season friendly so far this summer, losing to Scottish side Dundee 4-2.

Padraig Amond and summer recruit Ryan Edwards grabbed the goals for the Shrimpers but it was not enough for victory.

Danny Philliskirk might be in contention to make his first appearance of pre-season after recovering from injury.

Last Competitive Meeting
Tuesday, September 2, 2008 - Johnstone's Paint Trophy
Oldham Athletic (Whitaker) 1-1 Morecambe
(Morecambe win on penalties)
