Alan Pardew brings his Newcastle United side to SportsDirect.com Park tonight in Latics' third pre-season friendly of the summer.
The Premier League outfit have recently added Remy Cabella to their squad and he could make his first appearance in a Magpies shirt against Oldham Athletic tonight (7.30 kick off).
The 24-year-old cut short his holiday to sign for Newcastle United in a multi-million pound transfer and he will join other first team players in making the trip to SportsDirect.com Park.
Latics boss Lee Johnson has also added to his side this week with the signing of Timothée Diéng and he is expected to feature in tonight's game.
The game will also allow the manager to cast an eye over more trialists as he assesses his squad going into the new season.
Johnson said: "It's always good for a Premier League side to come to our stadium and it's good that they will bring their best team and give us a good game.
"We go into the game and as we get further and further into pre-season, our starting 11 will become more apparent. We have got a sound strength in depth this year so when you get in the team, you have to work to stay there so it's good for competition."
