Bove: "Scoring Goals Is What I Do"

20 June 2014

Young striker Jordan Bove is hoping to hit the ground running after signing a one-year contract with the club.

The 18-year-old, who was in scintillating form for the youth team last season, has earned the chance to step up to Latics' first team and the youngster cannot wait to get started.

He said: "I'm feeling very good and optimistic. I hope this year goes well so I can get my option and do the best I can.

"My personal aim is to get into the squad, play games, come on, score goals and keep my place in the side.

"It's always good scoring whether it's for the youth team or first team. Scoring goals is what I do."

The striker possesses huge confidence and he has sent a warning to future defenders who come up against him.

"I want defenders to be on edge when I'm in and around the box," described Bove. "I always know that I'm going to take my chance and always be on the last man so that's what I'm about."

With pre-season less than a week away, Bove has been training hard over the summer and feels ready to show the team what he has to offer.

"I've got facilities around where I live which I can use and I've been going in the gym most days so I feel in good shape and hopefully I can come back flying."
