Loan player Joel Byrom believes home advantage could be the key in tomorrow's game with Crawley Town
Byrom, who made his debut in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra, felt they deserved to win the game but Latics need to recover against the Sussex side on Saturday. He said: "They are on a good bit of form. They got a good result midweek against Wovles and we've go to use our home advantage to our favour. They've obviously played a lot of games in the last couple of weeks in quick succession. We've got to be at our best.
"Obviously it was a disappointment last week but over the 90 minutes, I thought we deserved the win and the lads battled hard. We conceded at the end but we've just got to move forward from that now and take it into this Saturday's game."
Supporters who made the trip to Crewe will have seen Byrom in action but the midfielder is looking forward to getting in front of the home crowd to showcase his skills.
"I've got a decent set play delivery and I bring a bit of balance to the side with being a left-footer," stated the 27-year-old. "I have a bit of composure in the middle of the park and hopefully get on the end of a few things and get a few goals."
With only nine games of the season remaining for Latics, the midfielder has outlined momentum as the key to picking up vital points.
"Once we get a winning run going, confidence builds in players and we'll start picking up wins," expressed Byrom.
"There are plenty of goals in this team, you can tell that through the training sessions we've had. We've got the quality in the side and we just need to use that until the end of the season."
