Each and every home game we welcome different groups of children to Boundary Park.
These are all part of our match day activities. We'd like to express a huge thank you to our official matchday partner J D Williams, whose support is invaluable to our match day projects.
JD Williams Team Of The Week
The 'Team Of The Week' initiative is aimed at celebrating the good work of our local grassroots teams by inviting a different team down to Boundary Park every match day. As part of the team of the week package, the team receive:
• Complimentary junior tickets for each child within the team (max 12 tickets)
• Complimentary adult ticket for the manager and coach
• 1 half price adult ticket per child
• Play in a match on the Boundary Park pitch at half-time
• Programme and Website piece all about the team
J D Williams Match Day Club
The match day club is for 6-12 year olds and runs from 12:30-5:30pm, meaning 5 hours of activities for only £5.00. The match day club is a chance for young fans to experience an Oldham Athletic match day in a completely different way. Between 1pm and 2:30pm, the children take part in different themed activities within Laticzone Study Support Centre. After the activities, the children are then escorted to the family section of Boundary Park where they enjoy the match with their free complimentary junior match ticket, accompanied by the matchday club staff.
The aim of both of these match day projects is to create Oldham Athletic fans for the future – many of those coming for the J D Williams Team of the Week have never been to Boundary Park before and we hope that by providing a positive match day experience for them they'll come back again and again. The J D Williams matchday club has grown in popularity since its beginnings last season. The youngsters who attend are gaining more and more knowledge each week about football and Oldham Athletic – it`s fantastic to see them learn whilst watching live football.
Holiday Activities
Every half term we run holiday activities from the Laticzone Study Support Centre. Our half term activities are a multi-sport and multi-activity week. Not only do we do sports such as football and handball but we also have film clubs, healthy eating workshops and arts and craft afternoons, meaning children with any ability or interests are welcome as we are not sport specific.
Our holiday activities are for both boys and girls aged between the ages of 5-11. Our clubs are open from 8:30am-5:30pm at a cost of only £10.00 per full day (half days £5.00).
Each half-term Oldham Athletic first team players come along to say hello to the children and take the time to sign autographs and have pictures taken with the children.
We are busily preparing for our summer holiday camps with the aim being of offering some brand new and exciting. We hope to work with a variety of different partners such as schools and grassroot clubs to provide six weeks of football camps for all the young budding footballers out there.
