Manager Lee Johnson has signed up for the Playershare scheme and is encouraging Latics supporters to do the same.
Playershare funds have been used to help in the past with the cost of players such as Luke Beckett, Shefki Kuqi and Cedric Evina and the organisation is hoping to get more supporters on board to bring in more revenue.On average, the company raises £10,000 a year which is equivalent to 2% of supporters and Chris Hill from the Playershare committee said: "If we can lift the percentage, the more players or better quality players we can bring in.
"All of the money donated goes into the Playershare bank account which is kept until the manager makes a request. He then comes to the committee and if the funds are there to cover the liabilities, it is paid to the club on a monthly basis."
