Oldham Athletic Football Club are delighted to announce nine players have signed to the club's youth team, sponsored by Safeguard Group.
The youngsters will join the current crop of first year scholars as they challenge for the Youth Alliance title next season.Tony Philliskirk, manager of the Safeguard Group youth team, is excited to start working with the young players.
He said: "It's a big day for the lads and their families. It's a proud day when they see their sons going into professional football for the first time.
"As they are in year 11 at school, a footballer is what most youngsters dream to be. This is the bottom of the ladder but they are the chosen nine.
"We've had around 30 lads this year so for these lads to successfully come through and be the ones chosen to be apprentices is a proud moment for themselves and their families."
