In this feature, we look back at ten of the most memorable moments of the season. Here is the sixth in a timeline of events.
March 2014Korey Smith v Leyton Orient
On a cold and wet Tuesday night in March, Latics found themselves trailing Leyton Orient by a single goal going into second half injury time.
In the final minute of normal time, Charlie MacDonald's cross was only cleared as far as Korey Smith and the captain unleashed an unstoppable volley, which rifled into the top corner to rescue a point for Oldham Athletic.
That goal sent just under 300 Latics supporters into delirium, whilst thousands celebrated in front of televisions, computer screens and in their cars.
Korey's superb strike was voted Goal of the Season at the end of season awards ceremony. Click the link to view the highlights from that game.
