Lee Johnson has recruited former defender Dean Holden to his backroom staff, taking on the role of first team coach.
Holden leaves his role at Walsall as a player and pro development coach to take on a new challenge with Oldham Athletic.
The former defender is held in regard at SportsDirect.com Park after spending four years with the club between 2001 and 2005.
Holden made over 100 appearances for Latics, scoring ten goals before joining Peterborough United.
The 35-year-old went on to enjoy spells with Falkirk, Shrewsbury and Chesterfield where he played with the manager in 2011 and was coached by current assistant boss, Tommy Wright.
Johnson, who lost former first team coach Paul Murray to Hartlepool United, said: "I'm delighted to have Dean on board as it is a great opportunity to coach at a club like Oldham.
"Dean is a fully qualified A-licenced coach and he is ready for the challenge. But, more importantly, he is a fantastic guy and I am looking forward to working with him."
