After 25 and a half years service to Oldham Athletic, Judith Lane steps foot into the club for the last time as an employee today.
Known for her caring attitude and incredible patience, Judith is a familiar face to all at SportsDirect.com Park. From manning the ticket office to her role as PA to the Chief Executive, Judith looks back at her time with the club with great fondness and little regret.
She said: "I have enjoyed every minute of my time here. I've had some down times but when you look back, they are all experiences.
"The ups have definitely outweighed the down times and I can definitely say that the last 25 years have been enjoyable.
"I do feel the time is right for me and the club. Lots of things are changing at the club and it is time to step back and let the younger ones get on with it now.
"It is hard to leave but I've always enjoyed it and loved meeting all the people but I just think it's the right time."
Hard work is something Judith does naturally. She excels under pressure and that was proven in her first couple of years in the job.
"My favourite moment was when we got promoted in 1991 and when we got to Wembley the year before," commented Judith.
"They were the most exciting times especially in the build up for Wembley but it was really hard work. We all threw ourselves into the job and really enjoyed it.
"When we won the league in 1991, we all knew that if they won the next games there was so much work to do but we always cheered them on and wanted them to win because that was the attitude we had.
"We knew that if the team won, the place was a happy place to be. Eventually they won the league in dramatic circumstances and proved it was all worth it in the end."
Football has been a massive part of Judith's life for the last 25 years but she admitted: "I was not a fan of football before i took the job.
"As soon as you get here, you do become a fan because it gets a hold of you and once it has you that is it.
"I will still be coming back to the games at home every week so you can't get rid of me fully."
Everybody associated with Oldham Athletic would like to thank Judith for her services for the past 25 years and wish her a very happy retirement!
