The winners of the game between Oldham Athletic and Preston North End will travel to Notts County or Doncaster Rovers in the semi-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Latics host the Lilywhites on Tuesday, November 25 and should they win that tie, they will face either the Magpies or Rovers.
If Athletic were to progress and Doncaster to beat Weston-Super-Mare in the first round of the FA Cup and Notts County, it could potentially set up three clashes in a month.
