Latics midfielder Carl Winchester has been called up to the Northern Ireland first team squad to face Romania on Friday, November 14.
The 21-year-old will look to add to his solitary cap for Northern Ireland as he travels with the squad to Romania in their Euro 2016 qualifier.
The midfielder has been in fine form for Athletic this season and after several appearances for the under-21's, Winchester has now received national recognition.
Manager Lee Johnson said: "I'm delighted for two reasons as he can still play on the Saturday for us because if he is not involved with Northern Ireland he can come back and play.
"I'm delighted for him and the club because to have a player come through the youth system is excellent. Supporters can see the path he has come from to become a full international and it is fantastic for Carl and the club."
