Saturday's Man of the Match Mike Jones was quick to praise the team despite netting the winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over Walsall.
The midfielder struck from 25 yards which rifled in via the crossbar to win the game for Latics, moving them up to eighth position in Sky Bet League One.
Jones, who signed for the club during the summer, has formed a strong partnership in midfield with captain Liam Kelly and has put in some impressive individual displays but he heaped praise on the team on the back of Saturday's victory.
He said: "I was made up to get my first goal. Whether it took a deflection or not is irrelevant because it's still gone in and I'll take that everyday of the week.
"What was more important was us getting the win though and that now now keeps the run going. We are on an unbelievable run going at the moment, going ten games unbeaten so we've got to keep that going."
Speaking about the game, Jones felt his side were good value for the victory but believes Walsall could surprise a few teams this season.
"It was a big game for us and it could have taken us either up the table or down the table so it was good to get the three points and that has cemented us in the top half now," commented the former Bury man.
"We were on top first half and most of the game but when we went into the lead we probably sat back a bit too much but they are a good team. They bought a lot to the table and they won't be far off the play offs come the end of the season so it was good to get the win."
Latics are now level on points with Chesterfield who occupy the final play off place and the 27-year-old believes the club can continue the good momentum at the moment.
"We think we could even be higher than that," admitted Jones. "Some of the games we have drawn we should have won but we are unbeaten in ten and the confidence is high in the camp.
"We have a great team spirit at the moment and we are going into games thinking that we are going to win so it's a nice place to be at the moment."
